I recently read a book by Khaled Hosseini called A Thousand Splendid Suns. It moved me and although it was incredibly heavy, it was also very difficult to put down the book. I believe Khaled Hosseini brings up several important issues and makes them intriguing and easy to connect to. Hosseini manages to show us as readers situations for women in countries were they are considered no more than pets or machines to give birth of boys. Many women have no independence or say about their own life and when war comes in to the picture the misery is complete. Hosseini is a very talented author who speaks about important issues and when an author like him comes along to give us a captivating inside of other peoples lives and situations it is difficult to turn ones back and pretend that injustices don’t exist.
